2026 Digital Marketing Lookbook
Explore 20 standout campaigns—email, social, CTV, and mobile—and the top digital marketing trends shaping 2026 in this exclusive lookbook.
Campaign design is constantly evolving, driven by tech and inbox innovations, changing consumer preferences, and the growing need to capture attention and serve customers well. In practice, those shifts don’t show up in big strategic overhauls. Performance is shaped by the details. Campaigns underperform because of small creative decisions that compound—things like layout, hierarchy, interactivity, and mobile usability.
That’s why we pulled together the 2026 Digital Marketing Lookbook, which highlights 20 standout campaigns from among the hundreds of thousands that our team sees each year.
Across those campaigns, we identified seven creative trends we think are driving performance. And because we think there’s always room for improvement, we shared 79 pieces of advice on potential improvements to those campaigns, both from the experts in our Creative Studio and from Athena by Zeta™, our superintelligent agent.
With so much inspiration and information packed into the Lookbook, we wanted the opportunity to unpack it at greater length. That’s exactly what we did in the on-demand webinar below. In it we talk more about our inclusion criteria, dive into five of the creative trends, and spotlight several campaigns in the Lookbook, along with additional on-trend campaigns.
The 2026 Digital Marketing Lookbook contains dozens of design and strategy tips—many of which you’ll no doubt find are germane to your own digital marketing program. To conclude the webinar, each presenter shared their favorite tip from the lookbook. Here’s a quick take on their picks.
Most marketers treat elements like footer navigation as functional rather than a performance-driver. With testing, you can boost the role it plays as a recovery module, capturing clicks when the content that precedes it doesn’t.
For example, if you’re a restaurant, you could add an “Order in the app” button to the footer nav and make it a different color than the surrounding links so it stands out.
Remember: Customers will scroll down, but they don’t like to scroll back up, so it’s wise to give them options at the bottom of your campaigns.
When users struggle to consume content, engagement drops fast. If your customer is having a hard time reading your marketing copy, chances are they’re not going to.
This is especially true if your audience consists of a significant proportion of older adults. We like 16pt font sizes for default body copy, with heads and subheads being larger. And if you’re unsure about the contrast ratio of your text, here’s an accessibility checker.
The majority of B2C emails are opened on mobile, but we consistently see less-than-stellar mobile experiences. Using responsive email design is great, as it allows the email to adapt based on whether it’s viewed on a large or small screen.
However, it doesn’t guarantee a great mobile experience. That’s because many of the brands we see using responsive design are using overly small font sizes or grouping links so tightly that they’re difficult to click accurately.
This may be because many brands are still designing the desktop version of their email first and then adapting that to mobile.
Top-performing teams reverse that approach, anchoring design decisions in mobile behavior to ensure usability, accessibility, and stronger engagement where it counts.
Polls provide two powerful benefits for marketers:
Even better are live polls, like those powered by Zeta Liveclicker. These polls show live response rates up to the time the email is opened, which provides immediate value by telling the recipient how others have responded thus far.
These moments increase time spent, strengthen brand connection, and open the door to more meaningful follow-up.
As AI frees up resources, a smart way to reinvest them is by leveraging the short-term intent signals and long-term preferences collected via polls, preference centers, and engagement across channels.
This zero-party data can be used in subsequent marketing outreach in the form of personalized, segmented, or automated campaigns, which generally produces phenomenal returns on investment compared to your average promotional campaign.
